The Valley Lebanese Bakery Review ~ Lebanese Pizza - Dulwich Hill

Five star service, five dollar pizzas. A hidden gem on Marrickville Road, Dulwich Hill. One of Miss Chicken's top five faves.

The Valley Lebanese Bakery in Dulwich Hill does insanely good Lebanese pizza for insanely good prices. We have been here maybe half a dozen times, it's one of those magic little spots that needs to be shouted about.
The pizzas remind me of some of the gorgeous pizzas you get in the Italian restaurants of Haberfield. The bases are thin and light and the toppings are thin but full of flavour. Fantastic with coffee.

Today I'm in for the garlic mushroom: loads of garlic, just the way I like it, with a sprinkling of mushies and the perfect amount of cheese: a little naughty but not too cheesey. This does me for lunch and breakfast. $7.

The Valley does regular pizzas but it's the Lebanese pizzas that are magic, and super cheap. My other favourite is the Half & Half oregano and cheese, $4. The Haloumi & Fetta also counts as food porn, $4.

They also do some great savoury snackages.

Dulwich Hill is an interesting place, past it's prime but on the verge of another cycle of gentrification.

The Valley Lebanese Bakery is at 491 Marrickville Rd, Dulwich Hill. We have to give a shout-out to the guys that run the place, they are always so friendly and make you feel so welcome, five star service for five dollar pizzas. If Lebanese pizza tickles your fancy then also check out Manoosh Lebanese Bakery in Enmore.

  1. I've read so much about this place and after reading your review, I thought I have to give it a go (after living around the corner long before it opened) and I'm kicking myself that I haven't gone sooner. I had the oregano, thyme & sesame seed pizza & hubby had the marinated lamb mince and they were both spectacular. We love the guy behind the counter - it was our first time there and he was having a chat like we were old friends. Love it! And Super quick to get the food out as well. The coffee is not bad either :)
I will definately be back to sample the rest of the menu.

  3. We've lived nearby for 2 years and have tasted quite a bit off the menu. ITS ALL AWESOME. Such a unique pizza style you don't find everywhere, fresh and tasty...and lovely thin crusts.

I am a fan of the HALF and HALF salad roll: - it has oregano, thyme on half a thin base with cheese, olives, fresh tomato and cucumber all rolled up. Lovely stuff. Falaffel pizza is great so are the cured lamb pizzas and the one with egg and mint... i could go on, but I feellike a pizza now...

  4. Love this place too! However I work in Lakemba and now I can't bear to pay more than $1.70 for za'atar (oregano) pizza or $3.50 for sojok. If you're ever out that way I highly recommend Al Cheik bakery opposite the station.

And of course for Lebanese other than manoosh it has to be Jasmin's, which I'm guessing from your excellent taste you MUST have been to...?

    1. I too love Jasmins in Lakemba. As I leave Jasmins, I go to buy huge flatbreads from a place about 4-5 shops away.... Can't get enough of these middle Eastern flatbreads. Belmore Lebanese bakery is also a favourite.... Lovely owner too.

  7. I have not tried their pizzas but the Ricotta and Mushroom triangle was very good, with light crisp pastry and plenty of filling. The coffee was also very good.
