Asa Akeh ~ Japanese\Korean - Dixon House Food Court

Our mission to feed at every stall in the food court is completed with a feed of Korean Japanese at Asa Akeh.

We've left Asa Akeh till last because, to be honest, we weren't really looking forward to it. We can tell at a glance that this joint isn't Japanese operated and the food lacks that magic Japanese attention to detail. It also means that we may upset some of our more vocal Japanese readers who understandably don't like their fine food traditions meddled with. We've been e-spanked several times over this. But it's our mission to document every food stall in Chinatown so here we are.

Asa Akeh's food is cheap and fills a hole but it just ain't Japanese. The Korean folks that run this place are absolutely lovely, we wish they opened a Korean stall instead, some bulgolgi and bibimbap would go down a treat. Perhaps the Korean ramens are worth a try.

Chicken katsu curry $9.80. Deep fried chicken cutlet with a mild curry. Japanese curry fiends would be disappointed but it was still fun and tasty.

Special beef bento - $9.80.

Ebi gyoza - prawn dumplings - $4.

Agedashi tofu - $4.

  1. "Our mission to feed at every stall in the food court is completed with a feed of Korean Japanese at Asa Akeh."

This only covers 5% of the fare on offer.

Aw c'mon, up the ante. How about; "Our mission to eat every meal on offer in the food court."
