Centennial Plaza is an odd mix of cafes, business towers, child care centres and newsagents. It's purely a functional place, the wind can blow hard through the shopping canyons making it cool in summer but a little meager in the joy stakes in winter. We would reverse the order of things on it's sign - coffee and eating always come first.
Simply Fusion is a sister store to the fantastic Island Dreams Cafe in Lakemba. We've been having a little food crush on Lakemba at the moment, so we were chuffed when we found out this stall was theirs. While mostly a takeaway with a bain-marie-of-love out the front, there are some made to order dishes worth trying. The mee rebus is top of the charts, thick curry soup enveloping yellow noodles and served with toppings of boiled egg, bean sprouts, lemon and chilli.
If you need something to take back for a desk lunch, then the nasi campur is probably your answer. Ask for the nasi kuning, yellow steamed rice with coconut, and top with selections of beef rendang and a health balancing vegetable mix of cabbage, zucchini and cauliflower.
Simply Fusion is open for breakfast - yay!
The nasi lemak is a bargain breaky at eight bucks including tea tarik. We'll be back for some breakfast roti soon...
Simply Fusion is at Shop 8/280 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills, Centennial Plaza.
Centennial Plaza is right near the eastern side of Central Station.
This is fun.
