Loiterers of Enmore may have noticed a quirky little bakery open some months back, selling Japanese curry rolls and cutesy custard bears. This is a real Japanese bakery. And Japanese bakeries are awesome.

Aaboll Cafe and Ethiopian Eatery is one of only a few African restos in Sydney. Centre stage is injera, the large crumpet like pancake that acts as plate, spoon and mixing bowl in one. Dig in and get ya fingers dirty.

We squeezed in a quick trip to Manila last new year, a week spent wandering and wondering at mega shopping malls, loitering quieter back streets papping cats, and trying to make some sense of this huge huge city. We ate a lot too.

Jia Jia Dry Hotpot Kitchen in Dixon House Food Court began life as Grandma's Dumplings. The stall looked temporary when it opened but it's still going and now has a permanent menu board and a growing trade. Go grandma!
