Every weekend we mull over where to go for lunch, at length, it's a serious decision. Afghani food is the first to cross our minds, Kebab Al Hojat in Merrylands to be specific. But we can't spend our whole lives at Kebab Al Hojat, so we stretch our wings and try some Afghani in Auburn, with a touch of Pakistani for good measure.
We love the touch of fancy...
Nimkeem lamb roast - $18. Served with nan, dhal and salad.
The lamb has been lovingly cooked long and slow, it falls off the bone just like on tv.
The bread is of a different style than other Afghani joints around Sydney, it's thicker, more like naan, maybe it's the Pakistani touch.
Mixed kebab with rice $16. Lamb, chicken and rissole kebabs on yellow long grained rice. The grills in Afghani restaurants are always fantastic. Kebab Al Hojat is still our fave in the grill department.
