A Sydney food blog celebrating the world's great culinary underbelly. We are ham-fisted enthusiasts who dig traditional foods, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and international supermarkets of mystery.

Sultan's Table Review ~ Turkish - Enmore Road, Enmore
Turkish food on Anzac Day in one hidden gem of a Turkish Restaurant, Sultan's Table, rippa.
It's Anzac Day. Our Anzac Day tradition is to eat Turkish food. We prime our appetites with a traditional Australian entree. I'm a VB yob. Miss Chicken is an uptown girl, she drinks Reschs. We're too lazy to get a train to the Turkish food Mecca that is Auburn, but we are lucky to have the next best thing up the road, Sultan's Table in Enmore.
We have the Icli Kofte, crushed wheat dough stuffed with spiced lamb mince. In other words a Turkish rissole, so fitting on Anzac Day.
The jingoism stops there as we order a sensational iskender kebab plate - finely sliced kebab meat with bread, tangy tomato sauce and yoghurt. God it's good. It's like a Turkish Parmegiana.
Sultan's Table could be mistaken for your bog standard kebab joint, the locals know better.
This is seriously good Turkish food, it is a little bit of Auburn in Enmore. It has a couple of tables inside and out plus a cheery courtyard outside. You can bring your own turps and the staff are dang nice folks, it has the vibe of a family run place. And it's usually busy, very busy.
The grrrls above kindly posed impromptu as I was snapping an exterior pic, I love this part of the world, home sweet home.
Sultan's Table is at 179 Enmore Road, Enmore.
